Yesterday, @mnr noted that IonQ ([the first pure-play quantum computing company](https://share.commonstock.com/RhieTSGpVjb)) is [expected to go public](https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20210927005262/en/IonQ-Expected-to-Go-Public-With-in-Excess-of-600-Million-in-Expected-Gross-Proceeds) on Friday October 1st. They are expecting to raise $600 million.

What do you think is more likely to affect our daily lives first? The "Metaverse" or Quantum Computing?

Initially, I think the metaverse as it is more consumer facing and more tangible (ie impacts the way we work and play). However, as we create more and more data and the applications become more near-term quantum computing will unlock applications/insights we didn't even realize were possible.

Curious to hear what other $META investors like @rihardjarc @parrot and @eggplant think about Facebook's metaverse play.
